LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday revealed a 16-player squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, set to run from May 30 to June 4 across Rawalpindi and Lahore.

Left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi will retain captaincy duties, while Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, and Sufyan Moqim rejoin the ODI side after sitting out the away series against Bangladesh in March.

Ahmed Daniyal, Arafat Minhas, and Rohail Nazir have been recalled to the squad and could potentially earn their international debuts this series, having previously been selected but not played.

Muhammad Ghazi Ghori and Rohail Nazir are the two wicketkeeper-batters named, after Usman Khan was ruled out due to illness.

Openers Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub were not considered, as both continue rehabilitation under the PCB medical panel following injuries.

The squad will gather in Islamabad tonight and begin training with the coaching staff from May 23.

Australia’s men’s team is also due in Islamabad on May 23, with practice sessions planned at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium ahead of the ODIs.

This bilateral series marks Australia’s first 50-over tour of Pakistan since March–April 2022, when Pakistan won 2-1. Earlier this year, Australia visited for a T20I series, which Pakistan swept 3-0 in Lahore.
