LAHORE: Pakistan’s cricketing calendar is set to intensify as Bangladesh ‘A’ and Sri Lanka ‘A’ teams are scheduled to tour the country for a series of matches this year, announced the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday.
The Pakistan Shaheens, Pakistan’s ‘A’ team, will engage in a packed schedule against both visiting sides, featuring a combination of four-day and 50-over matches.
Bangladesh ‘A’ will begin their tour with two four-day matches against Pakistan Shaheens, scheduled to take place from 10-13 August and 17-20 August. Following the longer format, both teams will transition to three 50-over encounters scheduled for 23, 25, and 27 August. The venues for these matches are yet to be finalized and announced by the respective cricket boards.

In November, the focus will shift to Sri Lanka ‘A’ team’s visit to Pakistan, where they will face Pakistan Shaheens in a series comprising five matches. The four-day fixtures are scheduled from 11-14 November and 18-21 November, followed by three 50-over matches on 25, 27, and 29 November. Similar to the Bangladesh series, venues for these matches will be announced later.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Emerging Team is scheduled to defend their ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup title in October, while the Pakistan U19 squad will participate in a U19 50-over Tri-Nation Tournament and the ACC Asia Cup U19 scheduled for November and December respectively. Details regarding these tournaments will be released by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in due course.
