ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s national cricket team to take on New Zealand and Australia in official warm-up fixtures as the International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the schedule for preparatory matches for all 10 participating teams at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 on Wednesday.
These warm-up matches are scheduled to be held from September 29 to October 3 across three venues in India that include Guwahati, Hyderabad, and Thiruvananthapuram.
ICC press release said continuing the tradition of previous ICC Cricket World Cup events, these warm-up fixtures will consist of 50 overs per side but won’t carry official ODI status. Teams will have the flexibility to field all members of their 15-player squad during these matches.
The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 will officially commence on October 5 with a match between defending champions England and New Zealand in Ahmedabad. The same venue will host the final on November 19.

Warm-up fixtures for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 are as follows:
September 29: New Zealand vs Pakistan at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, South Africa vs Afghanistan at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram; Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati.
September 30: India vs England at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati; Australia vs Netherlands at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram.
October 2: England vs Bangladesh at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati; New Zealand vs South Africa at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram.
October 3: Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati; India vs Netherlands at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram; Pakistan vs Australia at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
