TikTok experts equip participants with safety tools
During the workshop, experts from TikTok’s Trust and Safety team delivered a comprehensive training session covering the platform’s Community Guidelines, content moderation framework, reporting mechanisms, and measures adopted to promote user safety.
The session enhanced participants’ understanding of TikTok’s policies and the platform’s approach to maintaining a secure and responsible online environment.
The training comes at a critical time, with Pakistan witnessing explosive growth in social media usage, particularly among younger demographics who form the backbone of TikTok’s user base in the country.

Chairman PTA highlights collaborative approach
Chairman PTA, Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman, addressed the workshop, emphasising that ensuring a safe, trusted, and responsible digital environment requires sustained collaboration among regulators, digital platforms, and all relevant stakeholders.
“The digital landscape is evolving at an unprecedented pace, and no single entity can address the challenges alone,” the Chairman stated. “Partnerships like this are essential to protecting users and promoting responsible digital citizenship.”
Platform for dialogue on emerging digital challenges
The workshop also served as a valuable platform for PTA, TikTok, and other stakeholders to exchange views on online safety, responsible digital engagement, and the emerging challenges confronting Pakistan’s digital ecosystem.
Discussions touched upon content moderation challenges, misinformation, and the need for continuous capacity building among regulators and platform users alike.
