ISLAMABAD: Hemophilia patients are the center of special attention and it is our duty to help them in every possible way, said Pakistan Sweet Home Patron-in-Chief Zamurd Khan.
He made the remarks while addressing an event organized by Hemophilia Welfare Society Rawalpindi at Pakistan Sweet Home here on Thursday.
Zamurd Khan said that Pakistan Sweet Home is a source of protecting, nurturing and educating the most vulnerable section of society.
He said minor Hemophilia patients always need blood to fight the disease and that is why Pakistan Sweet Home organizes camps to collect blood through donations.
Hemophilia is usually an inherited bleeding disorder in which the blood does not clot properly. This can lead to spontaneous bleeding as well as bleeding following injuries or surgery.
Children with Hemophilia can’t stop bleeding because they don’t have enough clotting factor in their blood
Zamurd Khan added that Pakistan Sweet Home has donated 8,300 bottles of blood to the Hemophilia patients so far. He vowed to continue helping the Hemophilia patients.
Chief Guest, Chris Bombardier, executive director of Save One Life, an international nonprofit organization from the United States that provides direct financial aid to patients with hemophilia, lauded the efforts of Pakistan Sweet Home in helping the Hemophilia patients.
Chris Bombardier is himself a Hemophilia patient and has never let the disease to stop him from climbing some of the world’s tallest mountains.
Dr, Lubna Zafar, Dr. Farwa, Dr. Tahir Zafar, Dr. Asif. Dr. Zahida, Dr. Sara, Dr. Ayesha Naveed, and other speakers also spoke on the occasion.
