The exchange recorded 25,747 new investors in October alone, a 66 per cent increase from the same month last year. Monthly additions have brought the total investor base to 681,965, up 56 per cent year-on-year.
Growth pace has accelerated considerably compared with previous years.

The latest additions represent a 170 per cent increase over the corresponding period last year.
The expansion follows a series of measures that would make stock market investment more accessible, including simpler account-opening procedures and digital access through brokerage applications and online platforms.
These changes have lowered the traditional barriers for individual investors, allowing people to enter the market without visiting brokerage offices or completing lengthy paperwork.
Muhammad Sohail, chief executive of Topline Securities, told the media that investors can now open accounts through brokerage applications or websites in 15 to 30 minutes.
However, the rapid expansion in registrations does not necessarily mean that all registered investors are actively trading.
Sohail estimated that around 100,000 investors trade regularly, representing less than 15 per cent of more than 600,000 registered Unique Identification Number accounts.
This indicates that converting new registrations into sustained market participation remains an important challenge.
The growing presence of younger investors nevertheless offers the exchange an opportunity to broaden the country’s investment culture and mobilise domestic savings for businesses seeking capital.
Sustaining this momentum will depend on investor education, market transparency, effective regulation, and protecting small investors against excessive risks.
A larger investor base could strengthen Pakistan’s capital markets, but lasting growth will require greater participation beyond the initial opening of trading accounts.
