ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Senator Sherry Rehman, expressed solidarity with the brave Kashmiris of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal observed on August 5.
In her statement, Senator Rehman condemned the actions of the Modi government four years ago, when it revoked Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, thereby usurping the rights of the Kashmiri people. She highlighted that the Modi government’s decision has led to a new history of exploitation and brutality in the occupied territory, transforming it into the largest prison in the world.
Kashmiri Leaders Imprisoned in Indian Jails
The Federal Minister emphasized that despite the revocation of Article 370, atrocities against innocent Kashmiris continue unabated by the Indian forces, driven by the fear of rebellion. Many Kashmiri leaders who opposed the decision are still unjustly imprisoned in Indian jails.
