ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces have killed nine Indian-sponsored terrorists during three separate operations in north-western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.
According to the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district on the reported presence of Indian-sponsored terrorists.
During the conduct of the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorist location, and after an intense fire exchange, four Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed, ISPR said in a statement.
Security forces conducted another intelligence-based operation in Tank district and in the ensuing fire exchange, two more Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed, ISPR stated.
In the third encounter that took place in the Bagh area of Khyber district, security forces successfully neutralized three more Indian-sponsored terrorists, ISPR said.
“Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed Indian-sponsored khwarij (a term referred to terrorists of banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan) group), who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in these areas,” ISPR stated.
Security forces conducted sanitization operations to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area. “The security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian Sponsored Terrorism from the country,” ISPR concluded.
