ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces have killed 12 Indian backed terrorists during a series of Intelligence-Based counterterrorism operations under “Rad-ul-Fitna-3” in southwestern Balochistan province, the military’s media wing said in a statement on Thursday.
“On 5 & 6 August 2026, Security Forces conducted two high-tempo intelligence-driven operations in Washuk & Mastung districts of Balochistan, as part of an ongoing series of Intelligence-Based Operations under “Rad-ul-Fitna-3”, a relentless counter terrorism campaign aimed at eliminating Indian Proxies, killing 12 Terrorists of Fitna Al Hindustan, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
“Fitna al Hindustan” is a state term referring to all the banned terrorist groups operating in Balochistan to highlight India’s role in terrorism and destabilisation across Pakistan.

ISPR said on 5 August 2026, the movement of six terrorists was picked up by the security forces in Washuk District of Balochistan. The statement further said the troops effectively engaged these terrorists and, as a result of precise and skillful engagement, all six terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna Al Hindustan were killed.
In another intelligence-based operation conducted on 6 August 2026 in Balochistan’s Mustang District, security forces killed six terrorists following an intense exchange of fire. The operation also resulted in the destruction of a terrorist hideout.
Under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, the country’s security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eliminating the threat of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
The security forces have reaffirmed that operations against terrorist networks will continue with full resolve and determination to ensure national security and stability, ISPR said.
Pakistan witnesses surge in terror activities
Pakistan witnessed a surge in terror activities, particularly in its Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, since 2021, when the Afghan Taliban came into power.
Islamabad has repeatedly urged the Taliban regime to dismantle terrorist sanctuaries on Afghan soil, particularly those linked to the banned TTP terrorist network. However, the Taliban regime failed to take any action against the terrorist sanctuaries on Afghan soil.

Due to the surge in terrorist attacks, Pakistan has intensified counterterrorism operations to eliminate the menace.
In June security forces killed 29 terrorists during a well-planned intelligence-based ground operation along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, followed by precision strikes in the border region targeting hideouts and safe havens of terrorists belonging to the banned Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist groups.
A monthly security assessment published in early June by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) reported that Pakistan’s security situation deteriorated sharply in May after showing improvement over the previous two months. The decline was attributed mainly to a surge in terrorist violence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
According to the report, Balochistan was the worst-affected province, recording 71 terrorist attacks in May, up from 34 in April—a 109 per cent increase.
