ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met with the Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s Shura Council, Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, on Tuesday and discussed bilateral ties, regional dynamics, and unity within the Muslim Ummah.

According to a statement issued by the National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq highlighted that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy deep-rooted relations based on faith, brotherhood, and mutual trust.

“Saudi Arabia has always been a sincere friend of Pakistan,” he said, emphasising that the newly signed Pakistan–Saudi Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement marks a “historic milestone” and “a proud achievement” for Pakistan.

He added that the agreement reflected both countries’ enduring friendship, confidence, and shared commitment to regional peace.

He said that stronger parliamentary ties between the two countries would bring the people of both nations closer.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq expressed heartfelt best wishes for King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Chairman of the Shura Council Dr. Abdullah Al Sheikh, and the people of Saudi Arabia.

He praised the Saudi leadership for their role as the Custodians of the Two Holy Mosques and their efforts in promoting peace and unity within the Muslim world.

He also acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s cultural and moral leadership in the Islamic world and appreciated the Kingdom’s proactive role in calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
