ISLAMABAD: The Pak-Saudi Parliamentary Friendship Group has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation, enhancing inter-parliamentary exchanges, and strengthening mutual understanding between the peoples of the two brotherly nations.
This reaffirmation came during a meeting of the Group held on Tuesday at Pakistan’s Parliament House in Islamabad, chaired by Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony and Convener of the Group, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Radio Pakistan reported.
During the meeting, members underscored the importance of inter-parliamentary collaboration, noting that the Friendship Group serves as a key platform for fostering people-to-people ties and promoting dialogue between legislative and institutional bodies of both countries.
In his remarks on the occasion, the Minister warmly welcomed the visiting Saudi Parliamentary delegation and reaffirmed that the people of Pakistan hold Saudi Arabia in the highest esteem.
He described Saudi Vision 2030 as a forward-looking model of modernization and reform, harmonising faith, tradition, and innovation.
Chairing the meeting on behalf of the Saudi side, Eng. Khaled Abdullah Al Buraik emphasised the importance of regular parliamentary exchanges to strengthen institutional linkages and broaden the scope of bilateral cooperation.
He reaffirmed the Kingdom’s firm commitment to deepening ties with Pakistan across multiple sectors, including defense, regional stability, trade, investment, technology, renewable energy, and parliamentary engagement.
A delegation of the Saudi Shura Council arrived in Islamabad on Monday to enhance parliamentary cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
The visit comes amid expanding political, economic, and defence cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, with both countries reaffirming their commitment to deeper institutional and people-to-people engagement.
