ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia on Tuesday strongly condemned the storming of Al Aqsa Mosque by Israeli occupation forces, terming the act as ‘provocative’.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry, in a statement, warned that the reprehensible act constitutes a direct assault on the sanctity and historical character of the holy site and is a violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
“Pakistan categorically rejects all attempts by the Israeli occupying authorities to alter or undermine the established religious, historical, and legal status of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and calls upon the international community to take urgent and effective measures to prevent such provocations,” it added.

Pakistan reaffirmed its steadfast support for the Palestinian people’s just cause, including their inalienable right to self-determination, and backed the creation of an independent, sovereign, viable, and contiguous State of Palestine based on pre-June 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, denounced the blatant storming of the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque by a minister in the Israeli occupation government, under the protection of occupation forces.
The Kingdom affirmed its complete rejection of the continued Israeli violations of international law, the desecration of Islamic holy sites, and the provocation of Muslims’ sentiments worldwide.

It emphasised the need for the international community to act to stop Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and sacred sites, uphold the legal and historical status of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and ensure accountability for these repeated actions.
The condemnation follows ongoing tensions in Jerusalem, where visits by Israeli officials to the Al-Aqsa compound have repeatedly sparked regional and international criticism.
