ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday dismissed Israeli media claims that Islamabad plans to arm Iran in the event of an escalation between Iran and Israel.
Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar countered these allegations on X by retweeting a Tehran Times post and sharing a link of ‘The Jerusalem Post’ article with the caption “Not True! This is false information.”
The Tehran Times in its X account had originally quoted The Jerusalem Post, which claimed that Pakistan intended to supply Iran with military support if conflict with Israel intensified. “@Jerusalem Post has published an article, claiming that #Pakistan has the intention to arm Iran in any conflict with the Israeli regime,” Tehran Times tweeted on X.
In another post, the Tehran Times stated that “Israelis are worried about the possibility of Pakistan supplying arms to Iran. They fear that If Pakistan supports Iran, it could be the destruction of Israel.”

The Jerusalem Post claimed that Pakistan will provide Iran with Shaheen-III medium-range ballistic missiles if tensions between Iran and Israel escalated. Pakistan, however, firmly rejected these claims as false.
Meanwhile, American officials have reported observing Iran moving missile launchers and conducting military exercises as part of its preparations for a potential attack on Israel, according to a Tuesday report in The Wall Street Journal.

The report also noted uncertainty about the nature and timing of the anticipated attack, with an Iranian source suggesting it could occur “immediately,” within the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, The New York Times reported that Moscow has started supplying Iran with advanced radar and air defence systems.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Washington is engaged in intense diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation in the Middle East, amid rising concerns about a potential retaliatory attack by Iran against Israel.
