ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s youth volleyball team stormed into the semifinals of the 3rd Asian Youth Games 2025 in Bahrain with a dominant 3-0 victory over Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals at Isa Bin Rashid Sports City.
The young Pakistani squad produced a stellar performance, winning the sets 25-13, 25-20, and 25-18, showcasing both discipline and dominance.
Their sharp coordination, aggressive play, and solid defence left the Uzbek side struggling to respond.
Key contributions came from Muhammad Yahya, Muhammad Anas, Muhtad Ali Shah, and Khizar Hayat, whose attacking precision and defensive resilience powered Pakistan to a straight-set victory.
The team’s synergy and composure under pressure underscored their growing maturity and potential at the international level.
Following the triumph, Pakistan has booked a place in the semifinals, further establishing itself among Asia’s emerging volleyball powers.
Before the semifinals, Pakistan will face Saudi Arabia on October 24 in a classification match as part of the tournament’s progression toward the medal rounds.
Pakistan Volleyball Federation Chairman Ch. Muhammad Yaqoob lauded the team’s performance, saying, “The boys have regained their rhythm and played with perfect combination. Well done, we are proud of you.”
Under the leadership of Head Coach Saeed Ahmed Khan and Team Manager Naseer Ahmed, the Pakistan Youth Volleyball Team has shown exceptional consistency and improvement throughout the tournament.
