Pakistan Promoted Two PAF Officers to Air Marshal Rank

ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has promoted Air Vice Marshal Ghulam Abbas Ghumman and Air Vice Marshal Abdul Moeed Khan of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) to the rank of Air Marshal.

Air Marshal Abdul Moeed Khan was commissioned in the Pakistan Air Force GD (P) branch in December 1989. During his brilliant career, he has commanded Military Training Wing PAF Academy, a Fighter Squadron, and Asghar Khan Combat Commanders School, Mushaf.

He has served as Commandant College of Flying Training and Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Plans). He has held various positions as Principle Staff Officer which include Director General (Welfare & Rehabilitation), Director General (Security), Air Officer Commanding, Northern Air Command, and Director General (Operations).

Distinctions of PAF’s promoted officers

The recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), Air Marshal Abdul Moeed Khan is currently the Deputy Chief of Air Staff (Air Defence) at Air Headquarters Islamabad.

Air Marshal Ghulam Abbas Ghumman obtained a commission in Pakistan Air Force’s GD (P) branch in June 1990. During his brilliant career, he has commanded a Flying Wing, a Fighter Squadron, and an Operational Air Base.

He has served as Director of Planning at Air Headquarters Islamabad Director of Human Resource Induction in Peshawar and as Defense and Air Attache in Turkiye. He has also commanded the Southern Air Command.

Currently, he is working as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff National Aerospace Science & Technology Park. He is the recipient of Tamhgha-i-Imtiaz and Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
