ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had telephonic conversations with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-Fazl) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Convener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) head Khalid Hussain Magsi, and Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Salik Hussain.
The prime minister took political leaders into confidence regarding the prevailing tense situation and Pakistan’s retaliatory action against India.
“Praise be to Allah, the Pakistan Armed Forces have given a strong, coordinated, and powerful response to Indian aggression today,” said the prime minister.
“India carried out missile and drone attacks on Pakistan”.
“Great restraint”
The prime minister said, “Despite these hostile actions, Pakistan exercised great restraint.”
He said following the Pahalgam incident, Pakistan called for an impartial investigation to ascertain the facts, which India rejected.
The prime minister said this morning (Saturday), India again launched missile attacks on Nur Khan Airbase, Rawalpindi, and at other locations.
He said unarmed and innocent civilians were targeted in Indian attacks.
The premier said, “Our brave armed forces gave a befitting response to these consecutive Indian attacks.”
“Avenged the blood of innocent”
Sharif said during Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, Pakistan specifically targeted those Indian military installations involved in launching attacks against us.
The premier said, “Today, we have given a crushing reply to India and avenged the blood of the innocent.”
The premier said, “We are proud of our armed forces.” “I extend congratulations to you and the entire nation on the success of this operation,” the prime minister said.
“We are determined to thwart India’s nefarious designs to harm Pakistan’s sovereignty,” the prime minister affirmed.
