Pakistan PM Stresses Global Unity to Demand Immediate Gaza Truce

NEW YORK: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the ongoing slaughters by the Israeli forces against Palestinians, called upon the world to forge unity and demand an immediate truce and the creation of the State of Palestine.

He said that the time has come when they all must come together and demand an immediate truce and the creation of the State of Palestine as without that peace will not return in this part of the world. The Prime Minister told the media persons along with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas following they held a meeting, on the sidelines of the 79th Session of the UNGA.

He said that he visited the Palestinian president to express Pakistan’s complete solidarity with the people of Palestine and reiterated the condemnation of the killings and genocide being committed by Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip, killing young girls, boys, babies, women and men.

He added that he visited the President of Palestine to convey the feelings of the people of Pakistan that “Our hearts beat together”. He said that they strongly condemned the barbaric act as during the last one year, more than 41000 Palestinians have been martyred.

He maintained that cities after cities, villages, towns, schools, hospitals, and infrastructure have been razed to the ground. He added that this kind of barbarism has not been witnessed not only in the history.

In his statement, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas stated even since before 1948, Pakistan’s stance on Palestine had been unchanged as the nation had extended the maximum possible support to t Palestinians. The President said Islamabad’s support was not just limited to the students rather it maintained its pro-Palestine stance in the international forums.
