LONDON: Pakistan players, including captain Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq, paid tribute to legendary former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq by posing alongside his portrait at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground ahead of the second Test against England.
The Pakistan team visited the historic portrait during its first training session at Lord’s, where the second Test of the three-match series will be played from August 27 to 31.
Pakistan Players Honour Inzamam-ul-Haq at Lord’s
Lord’s Cricket Ground shared photographs on social media showing five Pakistan cricketers posing alongside Inzamam’s portrait. Among them were Babar and Inzamam’s nephew, Imam-ul-Haq.
The portrait of the former Pakistan captain has been displayed in the Lord’s Pavilion for more than a decade, recognising the legacy of one of Pakistan cricket’s greatest batters.

Inzamam represented Pakistan in 120 Tests, 378 ODIs and one T20I during an illustrious international career.
He retired as Pakistan’s leading international run-scorer and remains among the most celebrated figures in the country’s cricket history.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the sport, Inzamam was named an honorary life member of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in 2019.
Pakistan Eye Comeback Against England
The tribute came as Pakistan prepared for a crucial encounter against England following a heavy innings-and-103-run defeat in the opening Test at Headingley.
Victory at Lord’s would keep Pakistan alive in the three-match series ahead of the final Test in Birmingham next month.
Pakistan can also draw confidence from their impressive recent Test record at the Home of Cricket. They defeated England by 75 runs at Lord’s in 2016 before returning in 2018 to secure another commanding victory, this time by nine wickets.
The tourists will now hope their return to a venue associated with memorable Pakistan victories can inspire another strong performance as they seek to level the series.
