ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday introduced an evening shift for consular services at its headquarters in Islamabad, extending operational hours from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Announcing the initiative on his official X account, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said the move reflects the government’s commitment to making consular services more accessible, convenient and efficient for citizens.
“As part of our commitment to improving public service delivery, I am pleased to announce the launch of an Evening Shift for Consular Services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” DPM/FM Dar said, adding that citizens can now avail consular services from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on all working days.

According to a public notice issued by the Ministry’s Consular Affairs Division, the evening shift at the ministry headquarters came into effect on Monday, July 27, 2026, to facilitate applicants and further improve the delivery of consular services.
The notification stated that service tokens for the morning shift will be issued from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Fridays. For the evening shift, token issuance will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, and from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Fridays.
The extended consular service hours are expected to provide greater convenience to those who visit the Foreign Ministry for document attestation and other consular matters related to their education, employment and travel abroad.
The initiative will particularly benefit students pursuing higher studies and professionals seeking job opportunities overseas by offering them more flexible access to essential services.
