RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces have killed five “Indian sponsored” terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Bugti district of Balochistan province, the military’s media wing stated on Saturday.

Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation on December 5 in Dera Bugti district of Balochistan, on the reported presence of terrorists belonging to “Indian proxy, Fitna al Hindustan”.

Fitna al Hindustan refers to banned terrorist groups involved in terrorist activities in the country’s Balochistan province.

During the conduct of the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, and after an intense fire exchange, five “Indian sponsored terrorists were sent to hell”, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in a press release on Saturday.

Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area, ISPR stated.

“Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored terrorist found in the area as relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” ISPR maintained.

Earlier, ISPR stated that nine terrorists, belonging to the Indian Proxy Fitna al Khwarij, were killed in two separate operations conducted by security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

Fitna al Khwarij is a state term referring to the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist group based in Afghanistan and involved in cross-border terrorist attacks in Pakistan.

On December 5, following intelligence reports of khwarij (terrorists) presence, an intelligence-based operation was launched by the security forces in the Tank district. During the operation, security forces engaged the khwarij at their location, resulting in an intense firefight. Seven khwarij were successfully neutralised during the exchange, ISPR stated.

In a subsequent intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat District, security forces engaged the remaining two khwarij. In the ensuing firefight, the two were effectively neutralised by the security forces.

Pakistan’s security forces are currently conducting sanitisation operations in the area to eliminate any other khwarij linked to foreign-sponsored terrorism.

This is part of the ongoing Counter-Terrorism campaign under the vision “Azm e Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

The campaign aims to eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from Pakistan, with security forces and law enforcement agencies committed to continuing their efforts at full pace.
