LAHORE: After weeks of political turmoil and much drama in Punjab, Pakistan Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi proved his majority in the provincial house, winning the vote of confidence amid the opposition’s boycott on Wednesday night.
Pervaiz Elahi took the confidence vote after the Lahore High Court (LHC) ruled that the governor of the province had the authority to ask the CM to seek the trust of the provincial assembly even during an ongoing session.

The opposition boycotted the session of the house, claiming that the pre-requisite legal needs were not met and that the Punjab Governor’s order of vote of confidence was sub judice.
After winning the provincial assembly’s confidence, Ch Pervaiz Elahi thanked the leaders of PTI and his allies for supporting him.
