ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Belgium have discussed cooperation at global forums, including at the UN, local media reported on Thursday. The Second Session of Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) between Belgium and Pakistan was held in Islamabad, wherein two nations discussed cooperation at global forums, including at the UN.

The Pakistan delegation was led by Additional Foreign Secretary of Europe Ambassador Muhammad Saleem while the Belgian side was led by Ambassador Jeroen Cooreman,” Pakistan’s Foreign Office said.

The two countries reviewed bilateral ties and also set the agenda for bilateral meetings and cooperation for the upcoming year.
Ambassador Muhammad Saleem stressed the need for constant high-level interaction and talks between Belgium and Pakistan.
The two nations agreed to make Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) a regular annual feature of bilateral interaction. The next round of talks will be held in Brussels next year.
The current year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Belgium and Pakistan. Islamabad remains committed to further enhancing and deepening relationship with Belgium in the areas of investment, trade, cultural, academic, tourism and labor mobility.
