ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army successfully conducted a daring rescue operation to rescue foreign mountain climbers struck on the icy peaks of Concordia and Shigar.
According to the details, the Pakistan Army launched a rescue operation at 17,000 feet and managed to safely bring down the foreign climbers who were stuck in the snowy wilderness on August 17 in critical condition.
Four Britons, one Polish and a Pakistani guide formed the expedition who got stuck in the rocky peaks between Concorida and Shigar.
George Hurst, David Coop, Stephen Ryan, Darrin Corbin from England and Polish climber, Adam besides local guide Muhammad Iqbal formed the team.
Helicopters were deployed when SOS message was received and with precision, the stranded climbers were evacuated.
The foreign mountaineers expressed their gratitude and timely action from the Pakistani Army as without help the imminent end was near.
