ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has appreciated Saudi Arabia’s steadfast support for Islamabad’s efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, as Pakistan is set to host the US-Iran peace talks this weekend after securing a two-week ceasefire.
Dar said this during a phone call with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Thursday, a Foreign Office statement said.
During the call, the two leaders exchanged views on the evolving regional situation.

Pakistan is set to host high-stakes negotiations between the United States and Iran this weekend, as a two-week ceasefire — brokered through Islamabad’s intensive diplomatic efforts — entered its second day on Thursday.
Delegations are expected to arrive in Islamabad on Friday, with formal negotiations scheduled for Saturday.
The talks mark a pivotal moment in efforts to de-escalate a conflict that had threatened to engulf the wider Middle East, with Pakistan now positioned at the centre of global diplomacy.
Earlier, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia voiced concern over ceasefire violations in Lebanon, underscoring the urgency of enforcing the truce to prevent further escalation.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar conveyed Pakistan’s position during a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan on Wednesday night, as both sides reviewed the evolving regional situation.
They stressed the need for full compliance with the ceasefire to ensure stability, warning that continued violations could undermine fragile peace efforts.
