ISLAMABAD:  Pakistan Airport Authority has said that certain media reports claiming that Islamabad International Airport will remain closed for eight days are incorrect and misleading.

As per issued NOTAMs, in the days leading up to Pakistan’s Independence Day on 14 August, brief aerial activities for celebrations will require the temporary suspension of flight arrivals and departures for only two hours on specific dates and times:

From 6 to 9 August and from 11 to 14 August: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM (Pakistan Standard Time).

On 9 and from 11 to 13 August: 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM (Pakistan Standard Time).

Short intervals

Outside these short intervals, all operations at Islamabad International Airport will continue as normal. Passengers are advised to contact their respective airlines for schedule updates.
