Over 100,000 Electric Vehicles to be Brought into Transportation System in Next Five Years

ISLAMABAD: Around 500,000 electric rickshaws and motorcycles, along with over 100,000 electric cars, trucks, and buses, will be brought into the transportation system over the next 5 years under the Electric Vehicles Policy 2020.

The EVs Policy 2020 has set the target of reducing air pollution and curbing climate change.

The policy also focuses on developing a nationwide charging system for electric vehicles.

Pakistan is also facing environmental problems due to many factors, including coal emissions, transport, industrial emissions, etc.

Keeping in view the environmental problems world is shifting towards environment-friendly technologies. Electric Vehicles have the capacity to resolve critical challenges faced by the county in the 21st century.

Electric Vehicles do not emit any pollutants

Since Electric Vehicles do not emit any pollutants, the introduction of these vehicles will reduce emissions in the transport sector to a great extent.

Electric Vehicles have now become a reality in the country. The number of such vehicles is continuously increasing in Pakistan.

At the same time, the charging system is being deployed in various parts to serve EVs.
