GENEVA: The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha along with a high-level delegation attended 52nd session of the UN Human Rights Council at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on Monday.
According to a press release issued by the OIC, on the sidelines of the session, Hissein Brahim held a meeting, at the OIC Permanent Mission, with the Group of Permanent Representatives of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member countries.
OIC Secretary General
The Secretary General lauded the role played by the Group in defending the stance of the OIC and implementing the resolutions and decisions of the Islamic Summit and Council of Foreign Ministers. Hissein Brahim also reviewed the key issues on the agenda of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the efforts carried out by the OIC in areas of security, peace, human rights and humanitarian Affairs, Muslim minorities, and communities.

The Permanent Representatives of Organization of Islamic Cooperation member countries welcomed the talks with Hissein Brahim and lauded the role and achievements of the OIC. On the occasion, participants also exchanged views on the agenda items of the 52nd session of the Human rights Council and stressed the need for further cooperation and coordination to defend the stance of the OIC.
