SEOUL, South Korea: South Korean lawmakers reported Wednesday that North Korea has positioned a mobile launcher for a potential intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) test, as per the country’s Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA).
Preparations appear aimed at testing the missile’s atmospheric re-entry capabilities, possibly timed around the US presidential election in early November.
South Korean MP Lee Seong-kweun confirmed that the launcher is stationed at a specific site, although MP Park Sun-won noted that no missile has been loaded yet.
South Korea has expressed concerns over the North’s potential use of strategic displays, including missile launches or nuclear tests, to underscore its military advancements.
