KARACHI: The Sindh Home Department has granted remission in the sentences of nine prisoners on educational grounds.
A Sindh Cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Sindh Chief Minister, Murad Ali Shah in which provincial ministers, advisors, special assistants, and other officials including the chief secretary participated. It was also decided in the meeting to grant remission in the punishments of prisoners on the basis of education.
Education key to remission
According to the spokesman, the Sindh Home Department has granted remission in the sentences of nine prisoners who were sentenced by the Anti-Terrorism Court, on the basis of education. The spokesperson said that the prisoners whose sentences were reduced from six to twelve months have passed various examinations.
