New York City Breaks 50-Year Record for Snowless Winter

ISLAMABAD: According to officials at the US National Weather Service, it has not snowed in New York City (NYC) in 326 days. Thus on Sunday NYC broke the record for winter with the longest start sans snowfall.

The previous was set in 1973, during that year it had not snowed until January 29. The US met office has kept records about snowfall since 1869.

In most years dwellers of NYC see the snow falling in the middle of December.

Other East Coast cities also record days of snowless winter

However, in the current winter, there has been rainfall with drizzles, forcing New Yorkers to seek umbrellas instead of the usual snow boots. As per the NWS, other US cities on the East Coast are also new records of snowless winters being set up, including Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.
