AUCKLAND: A large number of people gathered at Auckland’s Sky Tower as the country is celebrating New Year following COVID-19 restrictions that marred the new year celebrations in 2022.

More than a million people are expected to gather in Sydney, Australia, for the New Year’s celebrations. Over 7,000 fireworks is being launched from the Sydney Harbour Bridge while 2,000 from the nearby Opera House.

China is also ready to welcome 2023 despite its countrywide surge in COVID-19 cases. Events will be held at the Great Wall in Beijing, while officials in Shanghai said traffic will be stopped to allow pedestrians to gather in the city. Shanghai Disneyland is also staging a fireworks show to welcome 2023.

New Year’s Celebrations in China
A large number of people in Pakistan’s cultural capital Lahore will be celebrating 2023 in spectacular style, with at least nine fireworks displays in the metropolis. Similarly, people will welcome the new year in major cities of the South Asian country including Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar.
