ISLAMABAD: A New Year’s video address, filmed on streets of Berlin, from the German defense minister that was posted on social media was heavily criticized Monday for its incomprehensibly “tone-deaf” message.

In the backdrop of exploding fireworks Christine Lambrecht can barely be heard as the top diplomat reflects on a year ending while a war rages in the middle of Europe.

In her words, the Ukrainian conflict had led to plenty of special experiences leading to encounters with interesting and great people. Lambrecht posted the clip on her personal Instagram account.
