ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday and discussed country’s political situation.

JUI-F’s spokesperson said in a statement that the conversation revolved around inquiries about Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s health, with Nawaz expressing concern for his well-being.

The spokesman said that both leaders expressed a commitment to addressing national problems through cooperation and mutual agreement.

Moreover, Nawaz Sharif also desired an early one-on-one meeting and stressed the significance of direct talks to address the country’s urgent issues.

Nawaz Sharif’s Balochistan Visit

Earlier, it was reported that Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to fly to Balochistan to further expand his party’s alliances with regional players. The PML-N on Tuesday formed an alliance with the MQM-P and also announced reaching out to other parties in Sindh.

Nawaz Sharif, who returned last month after around 4-year of self-exile in London, will hold meetings with PML-N Balochistan’s leadership during his visit to Quetta.

Scores of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leaders and some other leading Baloch leaders will likely join the PML-N, local media reported.

Meanwhile, PML-N is also eyeing another alliance with the JUI-F, Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, and ANP in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
