ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf on Monday stressed an apolitical approach to the development of the education and health sector, adding that promoting education was indispensable for the progress and development of the country.
Raja Pervez Ashraf said that while talking to the Chairman Higher Education Commission Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, who called on the Speaker National Assembly in the Parliament House to discuss matters ahead of the establishment of a state-of-the-art university in Gujar Khan and the initiation of early classes.
He added that the vibrant youth of Pakistan has been blessed by Allah Almighty with huge abilities. Pervez Ashraf emphasized the need for the provision of education facilities, especially technical education to youth for their development and employment for their future.
He stressed the early establishment of a University in Gujar Khan and said that having a university equipped with modern facilities was inevitable not only for the youth of Gujar Khan but also for students in the surrounding districts. The Speaker further said that being a public representative, it was his common responsibility to play his role in providing education facilities to the youth of the country.
Chairman HEC Assures Support for University
Chairman Higher Education Commission Dr Mukhtar Ahmed appreciated the efforts of the NA Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf for the promotion education sector. Dr Mukhtar informed the Speaker that he had issued directions to the concerned authorities for the establishment of the university in Gujar Khan on priority bases.
He further said the establishment of a state-of-the-art university in Gujjar Khan would no doubt provide quality education to the students of the Potohar region, Azad Kashmir, and other nearby areas.
He further said that the development of the country was dependent on the promotion of education, health, and social sectors. Dr Mukhtar assured of utilizing all possible resources for the establishment of a modern university in Gujar Khan.
