The Rohingya Muslims are denied citizenship and permission to travel, AFP reported. The army launched a violent crackdown on Rohingya in 2017 in Myanmar, and thousands now risk their lives each year, making dangerous trips from camps in Myanmar and Bangladesh to reach Malaysia and Indonesia.

AFP reported that 127 Rohingya men and eighteen women were captured on Friday in southern Mon state.

A top US rights Ambassador said earlier that conditions are not safe for the return of Rohingya refugees to their country as Myanmar and Bangladesh discussed to start repatriating Rohingya refugees.

Right activists strongly criticize and condemn Myanmar for their unlawful crackdown against Rohingya Muslims. Myanmar has been in chaos and unrest since Aung San Suu Kyi’s government was toppled in an army coup in February 2021, ending its short-lived democracy.
