TANGIERS, Morocco: Salima Kadaoui, founder of an animal sanctuar in Tangier, uses the TNRV method — to trap, neuter, vaccinate, and release the strays — to help control the stray dog population. “Our goal is to protect everyone. Public health means human health, animal health, and environmental health,” says Kadaoui.
Animal welfare groups have accused Morocco of culling stray dogs ahead of the 2030 World Cup it will co-host. But the kingdom denies the accusations, pledging legal and financial endeavours to protect the animals. – Hicham Rafih/AFPTV/AFP
