ISLAMABAD: Twenty-six more Sri Lankan students have arrived in Pakistan for higher studies at BS, MS, and Ph.D. levels in Pakistani universities. The students will pursue their higher studies under the Allama Iqbal Scholarships programme for Sri Lankan Students.
The students arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, and Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.
These scholarships are part of the extensive “Pakistan-Sri Lanka Higher Education Cooperation Programme ” program.
Sri Lankan students will pursue BS, MS and Ph.D. studies
Under the programme, Sri Lankan students will pursue their BS, MS, and Ph.D. studies in Pakistan’s public sector universities. The scholarships are offered in various major disciplines, including Engineering, Medicine, Business Studies, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, etc.
Students were selected keeping in view their basic eligibility criteria for enrolment in the public sector universities of Pakistan. The Sri Lankan scholars were warmly welcomed at Higher Education Commission (HEC) ‘s Lahore regional center.
They received a briefing about the scholarship project, the academic structure of Pakistan, and the core functions of HEC.
