ISLAMABAD: Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala and Peshawar from July 15-17 and may trigger landslides in Murree, Galliyat, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and hilly areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province during the period.
According to a report, rain/wind-thundershower is expected in Kashmir, (Muzaffarabad, Neelum valley, Hattian, Bagh, Poonch, Haveli, Bhimber, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Mirpur), Murree, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Galliyat, Attock, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Chakwal, Jhelum, Narowal, Gujrat, Lahore, Gujranwala, Kasur and Okara from 12th (evening/night) to 17th July with gaps.
The officials have advised the farmers to manage their activities keeping in view the weather forecast.
The officials said wind-thunderstorm may damage loose structures like solar panels and electricity poles. The general public has been advised to stay at safe places during heavy rains. —APP
