DUBAI: Despite a poor show against New Zealand in the recently concluded ODI series, Pakistani captain and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan climbed the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings.
He climbed two spots to 21, with 606 points. Fakhar Zaman lost two places and now stands at 23rd, with Imam-ul-Haq retaining the 34th place.
Saim Ayub also slipped to two spots, now at 38th, while vice-captain Salman Ali Agha moved one spot up to 40.
India’s Shubman Gill is the number one ODI batter, followed by Pakistan’s Babar Azam in second and India’s Rohit Sharma in third place.
In the ODI bowling rankings, left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi dropped one spot to 12th, with 601 points, while Haris Rauf fell two places to 24th.
On the other hand, right-arm pacer Naseem Shah climbed five positions to 43rd, with 494 points. Mohammad Wasim Jr., who made his return to the squad during the recent New Zealand ODI series, dropped six places to 68th.
New Zealand’s captain Michael Bracewell’s ranking in the ICC Men’s ODI All-Rounder Rankings increased significantly. He contributed 85 runs with the bat, including a superb half-century in the final ODI against Pakistan, and took two wickets across the three matches.
His performance earned him an increase of two spots to 5th, surpassing his teammate Mitchell Santner (6th) to become the highest-ranked Kiwi all-rounder.
Bracewell’s explosive 59 runs off 40 balls, featuring boundaries and sixes, helped the Black Caps reach a total of 264/8 in their 42 overs.
Bracewell’s innings also saw him jump 12 places in the batter rankings, now occupying the 89th spot while retaining his 18th position in the bowler rankings.
