Reznikov was appointed Ukraine’s defense minister in November 2021 but his ministry has been plagued by corruption scandals. Reznikov’s deputy was forced to quit in late January following the ministry was accused of inking food contracts at prices of three times higher than current rates for basic food items.

Speaking to the media earlier Sunday, he did not say if he planned to work in the ministry. However, he said that only President Zelensky, who last week made his best efforts to fix corruption, could decide Reznikov’s fate.
