KYIV, Ukraine: For the second consecutive night, Russia launched a multi-wave drone assault on Kyiv, according to a Reuters report.
Serhiy Popko, head of Kyiv’s military administration, disclosed that around ten drones targeted the capital in waves from varying directions. Fortunately, Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted all of them, resulting in no casualties or significant damage.
Popko expressed concern over the ongoing nature of these nighttime attacks, noting that Kyiv has been under regular assault by Russian forces without extended reprieves. While Ukrainian authorities have yet to provide a complete report on the scale of these attacks, early information points to substantial efforts to secure the city.

Meanwhile, Russia’s defence ministry reported intercepting 51 Ukrainian drones across several regions, including Tambov and Belgorod. This ongoing exchange of drone attacks exemplifies the heightened tension between the two nations.
Both sides deny targeting civilians, though the conflict has resulted in thousands of civilian casualties, with the majority among Ukrainians, underscoring the devastating toll of this prolonged conflict that began in February 2022.
