KUWAIT: Kuwait has welcomed the UN Security Council presidential statement on continued attacks by the Houthis against Saudi Arabia, which condemned attacks targeting civilians, civilian objects, and vital facilities, and threatened maritime security in the Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandeb Strait.

In a statement, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Kuwait’s support for the positions outlined in the statement, particularly its emphasis on Saudi Arabia’s right to defend itself in accordance with international law, the need for full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2216 (2015), and the prevention of weapons, financing, and other forms of military support from reaching the Houthis, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Kuwait reiterated its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its unwavering support for all measures the Kingdom takes to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its security and stability.

It stressed that the security of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of Kuwait’s security and that of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
