NEW YORK: Kuwait has pledged to support all regional and international efforts aimed at settling conflicts and disputes peacefully, Arab media reported on Saturday.
This was stated by Kuwait’s senior diplomat and first secretary Fahad Mohammad Hajji at a session of UN Security Council on Saturday.
International efforts for peaceful resolution of conflicts
Hajji said that Kuwait is an absolute believer in peace and that preventing and settling conflicts by peaceful means are basic pillars of his country’s foreign policy. The top diplomat added that the UN Charter encourages resolving disagreements through peaceful means.

He added that talks, investigation, conciliation, mediation, arbitration, and judicial settlement should be utilized to resolve conflicts and disputes. He added that Kuwait will extend its support for all regional and international peace efforts.
The top diplomat also stressed the significance of giving regional and sub-regional organizations a key role to prevent conflict through mediation.
