RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has stepped up its humanitarian operations across Gaza, Afghanistan and Yemen, delivering critical relief support including emergency shelter, food supplies and medical rehabilitation services to thousands of people affected by conflict and displacement.
In the Gaza Strip, particularly in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis in the south, dozens of Palestinian families were provided with emergency shelter assistance after their tents were destroyed, leaving them exposed to harsh conditions. In addition, 24,500 hot meals were distributed earlier this week across central and southern Gaza, aiming to support families facing acute food insecurity.
In Afghanistan’s Ghor Province, KSrelief distributed 950 food parcels containing essential supplies. The assistance targeted returnees from neighbouring countries, internally displaced persons, orphans and other vulnerable groups struggling to meet basic needs amid ongoing humanitarian challenges.
Meanwhile in Yemen, KSrelief continued its long-running support through the Prosthetics and Rehabilitation Centre in Taiz. The facility, operating under the agency’s eighth phase of support, has assisted 8,050 beneficiaries, providing artificial limbs, mobility support and rehabilitation services to individuals with physical impairments.
Over the past year, the project has produced 300 new upper and lower limb prostheses, delivered rehabilitation services to 3,900 patients and provided technical maintenance and support to 700 others. In addition, 3,100 people received medical and technical consultations, while the initiative also generated 50 local employment opportunities.
KSrelief said these ongoing interventions reflect its commitment to supporting affected communities across conflict zones and improving access to essential humanitarian services.
