JEDDAH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Director for Public Security Lt. Gen. Muhammad Al-Bassami has announced that a new online platform titled ‘Sawaher’ will be launched in the upcoming days to make sure security control at the entrances to Makkah to identify vehicles and people, Arab media reported on Sunday.

He was addressing the 22nd Scientific Forum for Hajj and Umrah Research at Umm Al-Qura University, Makkah. The Director said that the security patrols will be equipped with ‘Sawaher’ systems to detect outlawed persons.

He added that materials posted on social media will be analyzed and will be connected with the security command platforms in KSA. 

The Umm Al-Qura University is represented by its Institute of Custodians of the Two Holy Mosques for Hajj and Umrah Research has organized the two-day forum.

The platform with the theme of “Towards a distinguished experience to serve the guests of the Most Gracious” discusses several topics of scientific research related to Hajj and Umrah.
