KSA Vows to Support Palestinian Cause After Israel Attacks Al-Aqsa: OIC Ambassador

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s permanent envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Saleh Al-Suhaibani said on Wednesday that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) affirmed its support for the Palestinian people stems from its deep belief in the significance of the Palestinian cause.

The envoy said that the Palestinian cause represented “the key pillar of the OIC’s work, a vital axis of its interests, and a sense of duty dictated by its strong belief, standards, and association to its Arab and Islamic nation.

The Saudi Press Agency reported that Dr. Saleh Al-Suhaibani reiterated Saudi Arabia’s call for the need to enhance international efforts to end the conflict, restore the stability of the entire region, and the Palestinian people who, unfortunately, still suffer from obtaining their legal rights.

The Saudi Arabia’s envoy expressed these views during an extraordinary meeting of the executive committee in Jeddah. The meeting discussed the Israeli assault on the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Al-Suhaibani said the Israeli occupation authorities warn against changing the legal and historical status quo in Al-Aqsa Mosque, while Saudi Arabia affirms its firm stance on the need to provide full protection for Al-Aqsa Mosque and stop serious violations and provocations in it.

Saudi Arabia called on the world to take immediate measures and force Israel to stop provocative acts in order to obtain justice for the Palestinian people.
