RIYADH: To open up new opportunities for economic cooperation and promote ongoing communication between the two countries’ business sectors, Croatia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) have agreed in principle to form a joint business council under the auspices of the Saudi Chambers.
This came during a meeting between former President of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovi and a delegation accompanying her yesterday with business representatives of Saudi Arabia.
Grabar-Kitarovic, for her part, lauded the potential of partnership between the two nations as well as the opportunities available in the sectors of transport, renewable energy, infrastructure, tourism, and real estate and expressed the desire of Croatia to sign an agreement for economic cooperation the Kingdom to expand the fields of trade and investment cooperation.
She urged businesses from Saudi Arabia and Croatia to work together more closely to raise the standard of trade relations between the two nations.
Hasan bin Mujeb Al-Huwaizi, the President of the Saudi Chambers, stated that there are excellent investment opportunities for Croatian businesses in the sectors targeted by the Saudi Vision 2030, specifically tourism, renewable energy, and real estate sectors, as examples.

He also noted that the size of the trade exchange between the two nations has increased 198 percent to SR533 million in 2021 and called for introducing new cooperation mechanisms that will encourage this growth. — APP
