WASHINGTON: Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a key figure in the global Khalistan movement and General Counsel of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), has issued a strong message of solidarity with Pakistan, warning that any Indian aggression would mark the “final war” for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian state.
In a powerful video address, Pannun declared, “If India attacks Pakistan, it will be the last war for India and Modi. Punjab will be liberated from Indian occupation.”
He framed India as a colonial power holding the eastern Punjab by force, and called for resistance from within its own borders.
As tensions rose following the April 22 attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Pannun asserted that the people of Punjab would rise against Indian militarism.
“Indian Punjab will stand like a backbone with the Pakistan Army. Sikh communities will open langars to support Pakistan’s troops and resist the Indian military,” he stated.
Calling on Pakistan to internationalise the Khalistan cause, Pannun urged it to raise the issue of the Sikh referendum at the United Nations.
He claimed that wall-chalking and resistance messages had already begun to appear in military cantonments across Punjab, encouraging Sikh soldiers to refuse to fight against Pakistan.
“The Indian military’s blind obedience to Modi is dragging Sikh youth into a war that is not theirs. Modi’s politics will leave them orphaned,” Pannun warned, appealing to young Sikhs to reject recruitment into Indian forces.
SFJ had earlier released video footage of “Pakistan-Khalistan Zindabad” slogans and Khalistan flags appearing near the Army Cantonment in Patiala, a symbolic challenge to India’s military establishment.
With increasing calls for the liberation of Punjab and international recognition of Khalistan, voices like Pannun are sharpening the challenge to India’s occupation, exposing the growing internal dissent that India continues to suppress through militarisation and fear.
