Kashmiris Observe Right to Self-determination Day with Firm Pledge to Continue Struggle

ISLAMABAD: Kashmiris living on both sides of the line of control and in other parts of the world observed the right of self-determination day on Thursday with a pledge to keep their struggle on with full vigor for getting their legitimate right of self-determination through the proper implementation of the UN resolutions passed this day in 1949.

Special gatherings and meetings were hosted by various social and political organizations in different parts of the liberated territory were held including the capital city of Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, and Rawalakot.

The meetings and gathering highlighted the importance of the timely grant of the right of self-determination to the people of Jammu Kashmir, which was being suppressed and denied by India for the last 74 years.

The gatherings strongly condemned the unending violation of the line of control by the Indian government through the regular incidents of unprovoked firing by the Indian troops on the LoC in AJK. They demanded the UNO and other human rights organizations take immediate notice of the increased aggressive designs of India in the region, which they warned, may lead to a conventional war in the region.

Demand for self-determination

While addressing one of the rallies in Mirpur, speakers demanded immediate notice of the Indian menace and unilateral act of August 05, 2019, that had scuffled the special status of the long-awaited disputed Jammu Kashmir State, in the international court of justice to contest the unlawful action practiced at gunpoint by the fascist Modi-led Indian government.

The protest rally was held in support of the district administration, Civil Society embers, lawyers, Trade Uion representatives, Teachers, and Students from Kachery to Chowk Shaheedan Mirpur.

Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Amjad Iqbal, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Qadir, and representatives from bar, trade and education sectors led the rally.

The participants who were holding placards and banners bearing slogans of Self-Determination also chanted slogans in support of Pakistan Army.

Another rally was held in Bhimber district, where representatives from trade union, journalists, and civil society activists participated.

Another rally was organized in Kotli district in support of the District Administration, trade unions, civil society, and local journalists where a huge number of people participated to express their condemn Indian atrocities on both sides of the line of control.
