ISLAMABAD: Members of the Legislative Assembly of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and other senior leaders from across the aisle on Thursday unanimously passed a 5-point resolution calling on India to reverse its unlawful, illegal, and unjust annulment of Article 370 and 35A of its constitution on 5 August 2019 and re-endorsed the principled stand of Pakistan to link any talks with India with the reversal of these actions.

The statement was issued during a luncheon hosted by Pakatan’s President Dr. Arif Alvi for the AJK acting president Anwar ul Haq, Prime Minister (PM) AJK Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, former PM AJK Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, AJK Legislative Assembly members, and senior political leadership of the valley.

The five-point resolution called upon India to retract its unlawful move to change the IIOJK demography by illegally issuing domiciles to more than 4,200,000 non-Kashmiris and empowering them to buy land in Kashmir and conduct business.

The second demand is to end the atrocities, harassment, intimidation, and humiliation of the innocent Kashmiri by the Indian occupation forces.

The resolution also demanded the international community, the United Nations, and human rights organizations play their due role to implement several UN security council resolutions on Kashmir.

Fourth demand of Kashmiri leaders resolution

The fourth demand is to take notice of punitive restrictions and curbs imposed by India to usurp media freedom and impose a media blackout in the valley.

The resolution also demanded the leadership of Pakistan and India to allow cross-border hassle-free movement to facilitate the Kashmiris living on both sides of the LOC to meet their relatives and do business.
